SMT Hybrid Packaging

We had an exciting week last week, exhibiting in Nuremberg at the SMT Hybrid Packaging Exhibition. With 22,00 visitors and over 500 exhibitors SMT Hybrid Packaging is Europe largest event on System Integration in Micro Electronics.

The three-day-event brought together an array of industry sub-sectors from design and development to PCB production, components, assembly, soldering, packaging and test systems all under one roof.

The event provided a valuable insight into the German PCB market, and it was enlightening to understand what technologies and services our competitors in Germany are offering.  The German PCB market is very strong and accounts for 46% of the world PCB fabrication, and the dominance of the German PCB manufactures at the show was very evident. However we believe Spirit presented a proud representation of the forward-thinking British PCB market, most notably with our unique offering of metal clad PCBs (MPCB).

Our focus was to exhibit our ability to supply the MPCB’s for the rapidly expanding LED Lighting and high power applications, in addition to showcasing our new offering of 1 metre long boards.

Overall the event was invaluable to Spirit, who in the mist of developing our export strategy, made good progress in generating export oppurtunituies.

As well as a resounding success in providing a diverse platform to showcase our latest products, the event took a social turn as we met with long-standing colleague in the industry and friend Gerhard Popp.
